Drive EVs Public Fast charging spot is now available!

We are very pleased to now have our very own public EV charging spot, here at Drive EV, 60 Tuwharetoa Street, Taupo. This unit is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The site has 1x 50kW Tritium Veefil unit that supports all DC charging EVs in NZ, with CHAdeMO and CCS plugs.

For vehicles that have fast onboard AC chargers like the Zoe and Tesla models, we have 2x 22kW AC units, these are designed for users to be able to plug into for several hours and even overnight. All electric Vehicles can use the AC stations as long as you "Bring your own cable”. During working hours you are more than welcome to borrow one from Drive EV, but outside these hours you will need a cable to charge.

Billing for these units is through ChargeNet and you can simply use your normal ChargeNet RFID chip to pay. The 50kW unit is billed at 25c per minute and 25c per kWh, the AC unit costs 30c per kWh regardless of time.
